Description

M102 otherwise known as NGC5866 by most authors is one of those "missing" Messier objects. It also known as the "Spindle" or "Fuse" Galaxy for its quite peculiar shape. In terms of rendering this isn't an easy object to work on nor it is rewarding being rather small and difficult to tease out detail from. Being this my second attempt at it I had an inkling on hot tricky it would have been and in this it didn't disappointed me. I guess to do it justice it would need much larger aperture than mine and a seeing and image scale to match. To be on the safe side I didn't waste prime imaging time on this one, full or nearly full moon covered most of the exposures used.
