Description

This is a wide field of NGC 3697 a Galaxy 292 Mio Lj distance. Visual diameter is 2,5 x 0,7 arcmin.

This is a Astrobin debut picture.

Beside this galaxy there are several other ones forming Hickson 53.

Just under MRK 1296 size 0,6 x 0,3

than MCG+04-27-044 size 0,5 x 0,3

IC 700 in the middle right side is a single galaxy as a left over from an old merger of 2 galaxies - this is called Hickson 54 and has a size of 1,0 x 0,7 arcmin. There is a weak outer halo which extents to 2,6 arcmin.

IC 701 on the left side down is called ARP 197 and is formed by the main galaxy 0,7 x 0,55 arcmin and a left side galaxy stream 1,25 x 0,7 arcmin.

In the center of the picture is a very distant galaxy group where I did not find any information of, but it looks good. The brightest galaxies are listed.
