Description

I've been shooting some of the Messier galaxies I missed last year, but they don't rise above the trees to my East until about 11:00. To pass the time and get the scope and guidance "warmed up" I've been shooting the brightest galaxy that Charles Messier missed, NGC2403. I start imaging as soon as the SQM gets to 19 and keep shooting until my Messier galaxy target of the night rises. I then shoot each of these galaxies for 1 night only, just to be sure I get some data on each of them this season. I plan to go back to some of these galaxies if I have time late in the season.

For now I've come to the conclusion that NGC2403 is done, after 8.7h of good frames.

To get those nice red H-alpha regions and golden colored lanes in the core I used the following pallet.

Red channel= Red + ( 2xHa) -created with Pixel math

Green channel= Red

Blue Channel = Blue

Frames Used

L=34x240

R=29*240

G= 14x240 not used (more noise than Red and similar appearance)

B=28*240

H=39x240 bin 2X2 then drizzled to match
