Description

Embarked on a quick little family excursion to the middle of the desert to take another shot at NEOWISE. I've observed and imaged it off and on for the past 10 days and just couldn't resist the urge to go out tonight and try to get some data from a darker area than my driveway. Although the view is pretty good from my driveway and I have no problem seeing it with the unaided eye, there's a streetlight right in front of my house that produces some awful discoloring and gradients.

Anyway, here's a quick edit from one of my favorite shots tonight (#2 of 100 total exposures taken). Although it has quite a bit of noise-induced artifacts, it shows just how LONG that ion tail is and is the first time I've been able to capture it. The ion tail takes up almost the entire frame of this shot.

Hopefully I didn't overdo it in the processing department. I'm not too good at handling noise.
