This is my new scope. It should be an ideal addition to my 8" RC, which is great for smaller objects but has a too small field of view for all the larger objects. The TS Apo has a focal length (with the Riccardi-Reducer attached) of 450 mm which is obvious great for wider fields. It was a long hard process of decision which scope to buy, but in the end the TS-Optics Photoline 90mm f/6.6 FPL53 Triplet Apo made it. Its aperture is big enough to capture some detail and its FL is small enough to be a widefield telescope. Everything can be screwed together, so i hope to avoid tilting. The focuser is rotatable which is very nice :-)

In image B) you can see the spacing between the Riccardi-Reducer and the the chip. APM and TS state that the distance should be 76.2 mm (which is shown by the green line). If i subtract the flange of 17.5 mm added by the camera, the distance should be 58.7 mm (indicated by the white line).

I cant wait for the first light, but in the moment clouds and rain are the only things visible in the sky :-( I need to check if all the distances are correct, but i totally need a star for that :-)

[Update 2019-10-10] The rotator is easy to use. Just loosen the screw and then you can rotate the whole OAZ in any direction.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
