Description

Paralell to NGC 3656 which I captured with the C11 I made a wider field picture with the Sharpstar Astrograph. This picture shows NGC 3656 and NGC 3631 and some other galaxies in the field.
What was the most surprising target was the Seyfert 1 Galaxy Markarian 1. These galaxies are defined best according to Wikipedia as follows:
The Markarian galaxies are a class of galaxies that have nuclei with excessive amounts of ultraviolet emissions compared with other galaxies
A close up will show the Galaxy better.
It is really tiny - 0,36 x 0,17 arcmin only!
The brightness is 17m06
I could not find a number of the distance of this galaxy.

Gary Imm made a very nice picture of this Galaxy which is called as well ARP 151 which he shows thereunder!
