Description

Andromeda Galaxy (Close FOV)

This image is taken from my observatory here in Utah.   The last time I imaged this objest it was a 4 panel mosaic to accommodate the entire galaxy and area.  I've wanted to image it just with a straight a panel FOV from my ES APO.

I also wanted to see the difference in detail and resolution this would provide from other times I have imaged this fantastic neighbor of ours. I hope you enjoy.

The Andromeda Galaxy, also known as Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224 and originally the Andromeda Nebula, is a spiral galaxy approximately 780 kiloparsecs from Earth, and the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way. The galaxy's name stems from the area of the Earth's sky in which it appears, the constellation of Andromeda.
