Description

One of the few larger spiral galaxies we can get a good view on in the southern hemisphere, NGC253 has long been a favourite of mine, but this is the first time I've attempted to image it with a dedicated mono camera.

This is LRGB using 180s expsoures to a total of 7 hours and another near 2 hour of Ha at 300s exposures to bring out the emission nebula a little better.

Each channel stacked and saved separately out of APP - I seem to be having some problems with Green and Red flats...not sure why.

I'm trialling the aplha version of Startools 1.8 here which does the LRGB combine and then let's you use the Ha as a narrowband "accent" for the emission nebular colour.

Final tweaks in PS CC.
