Description

This object is an open star cluster located 2500 light years away in the constellation of Perseus at a declination of +50 degrees. The cluster spans 12 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of almost 10 light years.

The cluster is a nice array of stars of different magnitudes and colors. The highlight is at the center, where a triangle of bright stars of 3 different colors (orange, yellow and blue) shines prominently. I also like the orange/blue double star towards the top of the image.
