Description

And again a year is over... A year, which was a lot of fun together with you, a year in which I was able to learn a lot of new things in astrophotography and in which I made new contacts to great people. :-)

My personal "Best of" shows 18 of my images from the past year. I am especially proud of the two collaborations for "NGC 4151 and Friends" (Thanks to Matthias, Bernd, Daniel, Tony and Uwe!) and "Cederblad 214" (Thanks to Flo!). For each of these two images, we collectively captured over 100 hours of raw data.

All together, these images have a total integration time of over 568 hours. Hopefully it can continue like this in the future! :-)

The objects from top left to bottom right are:

01) Comet C/2020 F3 Neowise

02) Lynds Dark Nebula 673 (LRGB)

03) SH2-101 - The Tulip Nebula and Cygnus X-1 Bow Shockwave (Bicolor)

04) Cederblad 214 - SH2-171 - NGC 7822 (SHO with 100 hrs integration time)

05) NGC 7497 and MBM 54 (LRGB)

06) NGC 6543 - The Cat's Eye Nebula (Bicolor RGB)

07) NGC 4151 and Friends (HaLRGB with 108 hrs integration time)

08) LDN 1235 - The Shark Nebula

09) SH2-174 (Bicolor RGB)

10) M94 - Croc’s Eye Galaxy (HaLRGB)

11) M42 - The Orion Nebula

12) IC 434 - The Horsehead Nebula

13) NGC 281 - Inside the Pacman (SHO)

14) IC405 - The Flaming Star Nebula (HaLRGB)

15) SH2-114 - The Flying Dragon Nebula (HaLRGB)

16) Hidden Treasures in Cederblad 214 (SHO)

17) LDN 1251 - The Rotten Fish Nebula (LRGB) or "Dark Clouds are not dark at all"

18) Abell 31 - SH2-290 - PK 219.1+31.2 (Bicolor RGB)

I wish you all a good start into the new year 2021, happiness and health!

Frank
