Description

As Comet Neowise starts to fade, there is still plenty of detail to be had, even if it is a less spectacular naked eye object. Encouraged by some extraordinary images of the core and structure in the dust and ion tails, I imaged this using my higher resolution DSI 3 pro camera at f3 on my 8" SCT using just an IR cut filter to reduce bloating.

15s exposures yielded some detail in the luminance frame, but were cut short after 6m due to intermittent cloud. I was concerned that this exposure length might blow out the nucleus and detail in the coma, which it has to some extent

Description: I also took a series of 8s exposures (13m in total). Undoubtedly a longer duration, shorter exposure image reveals more detail, but at the cost of some more noise, and some banding - the curious tail below the comet, is an artefact!
