Description

Another one of my fall images out of the California desert to process now back in snowy... or better said in poring rain Canada. After over a foot of fluffy white stuff the other day, the rain is back in the Pacific Northwest. No fun...The subs for this target were collected end of October and mid November. The first batch was plagued by bad seeing and even with adding the second batch, the final product was so-so. But then came Santa and brought us all a new toy. I tried the BlurXTerminator on this data and I also used SPCC for the first time. Comparing the two outcomes was quite interesting and I think the quality of the processing lets me share the image now here.

The Pacman Nebula or NGC 281 is located in the northern part of the constellation Cassiopeia. It is a rich emission nebula, part of the H II region of the Milky Way's Perseus spiral arm. The distance form us is estimated at 9500 LY with a radius of approx 48 LY. It contains an open cluster IC 1590,  multiple star B 1 and several Bog Globules. The nebula was discovered in 1883 by Edward Emerson Barnard.
