Description

M60 is one of the largest elliptical galaxies in Virgo Cluster at a distance of 57mly. Together with spiral NGC 4647 forms Arp 116.

M59 elliptical is almost 1.5 times smaller then M60 and lies a bit closer to us (50mly).

There are also other members of Virgo Cluster seen here: lenticular NGC 4638, spirals NGC 4606 and NGC 4607 (possibly interacting ) and smaller galaxies.
