Description

Tarantula Nebula (NGC 2070) is a large star forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). It is the largest and the brightest star-forming region in the Local Group (galaxies nearest to our Milky Way galaxy). Estimated distance is 160,000 light years. Even from this vast distance, its luminosity is so great that if it was close to Earth as Orion Nebula, it would cast visible shadows at night.

This was captured in October 2022.

Just 1 hour of total exposure (20x180s)
