Description

Also known as NGC6705, M11 is an open cluster of stars located in the constellation of Scutum at a distance of about 6,200 light-years away. The cluster contains about 2900 stars and gets its name from the brighter stars forming a V-shape like a flying flock of ducks.



Taken in September 2018 from Campbell, CA, USA. Sky: 18.80 mag/arcsec^2
