Description

This galaxy is a dwarf irregular of peculiar morphology. It is similar in form to an elliptical or lenticular galaxy, with a brighter core and a faint outer enveloppe. There are several filamentary dust lanes radiating outward from the core into the outer envelope. The resolution in individual stars is difficult despite the fact that this galaxy is nearby and very likely a member of the M81/NGC2403 group.
Angular diameter: 5.5'x4.1'.
Radial velocity: 120km/s.
Distance: 5.4 mly.
Diameter: 8600 ly.
