Description

NGC 7822 - Star forming region in Cepheus

This is a prime target for astrophotography at this time of year. The L-eNhance filter easily pulled the nebula through the local light polluted skies. Just near center can be seen a creation "pillar", where young stars would be forming.

Comparing this other examples, a much larger FOV would be required to acquire the whole "question mark" shape of the surrounding nebulae. Also more justice would probably be done using narrow band filters and the Hubble palette to reveal subtle details and gaseous compositions. However, using the dual band pass filter with the OSC camera, the basic essence of the object can be seen.
