Description

The image shows the HII emission nebulae Sharpless Sh2-145 to the left, and Sh2-140 to the right of the dark molecular cloud LDN 1204 in the center of the image. The radiation from the young stars in the open star cluster Pismis-Moreno1 generate a bright ionisation front at the margin of Sh2-140 towards the dark molecular cloud LDN 1204. Distance to Sh2-140 is approximately 2900 light years.

The LRGB image is enhanced with Ha frames to bring out the HII emission nebulae. Some very colourful stars speckle this part of the sky.

The integrated image of total 28 hours consists of frames from five different nights from 2017 and 2020. Since I was still using the first generation of ZWO filters, there are pronounced halos around the bright stars.

Taken with the Takahashi Epsilon-130D and ZWO ASI 1600mm camera as always from the city center of Vienna, Austria.
