Description

A successful experiment with the Tamron 135 mm camera lens stopped down at F5.6 (full open it is F2.8) to reduce chromatic and spherical aberration, and perhaps also some coma.

I very much like the result and will probably use this configuration again.

It must be said that the position of the object in the sky (almost due west) allowed me to take 2 minutes long shots with my altaz mount, without appreciable field rotation, something that cannot be done in other parts of the sky.

Nevertheless it was also a very good performance by the Skywatcher AZ-GTI mount, with 46 120s valid pics out of 47.
