Description

Borg 125/f4 + ASI094c on 10Micron in the back yard mid-October (many nights)
856x120s = 28.5 hours during waning moon (culled at least 50% poor-quality frames beforehand!)

LDN1251 is part of a huge complex of molecular dust clouds in Cepheus, very close to the Dark Shark Nebula. I call this one the Rotten Fish, though it’s really quite beautiful!

There are several background galaxies peeking out from behind the dust.

I think there are two Herbig-Haro objects (proto-stellar systems) glowing red-orange in the fish head part of the cloud. Many very dark blobs of opaque dust might be called Bok globules.
