Description

Since I had never photographed a lunar eclipse before, I collected FITS files in bracketed exposures as many suggest on Youtube.  But I also collected video files as I normally would when imaging the moon.  The first image I shared was done with bracketed exposures (9 different exposures x 10 frames of each) that were stacked, sharpened, and blended in Photoshop.  And I think that I did okay with that technique.

This second image was produced with data collected a few minutes after the point of maximum eclipse, but it was done with the lucky imaging technique.  In this case, I stacked the best 25% of two different videos with longer and shorter exposures.  I blended these together in Photoshop.  Total frames stacked was approximately 900.  While I was pretty happy with my first image, I do feel that this one has a more consistent gradient of light and color saturation that I struggled to achieve in processing the first set.

Thanks for reading.  Let me know if you have an opinion on these two different methods!
