NGC 4535, NGC 4526, NGC 4518 in LRGB bin 2x2

First of all: I loved the speed of stacking and processing with the 2x2 binned images. That was quite a difference from the 1x1. Not that my computer is slow, but the lower size makes it flying. BUT ... this is it all what I could find with 2x2 binning being a good choice.

There are 2 explanations: either I do not understand this whole sampling stuff (which might be very well true), or the theory about it is just not correct. Or maybe there is something else that I cannot think about.

According to the graph in version C I am with my setup and 1x1 binning outside of the "ideal" arcsec/pixel with 0.85. Hence I thought, well ... if I bin 2x2 I should be right in the center with 1.7 arcsec/pixel at 925mm focal length. So I did the trial, and when you look closer, the stars are pixelated, which I do not see at all at my regular 1x1 binning.

So the question to all: Tell me my stupid mistake, since I cannot believe that so many theoretical papers tell the story incorrectly.

All in all though, it was not quite a waste of time, the galaxies came out nicely, and the bigger pair makes a nice frame.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
