Description

Mars after midnight on Wed 16 Sep 2020 AEST.

Was blessed with near perfect seeing conditions over two hour imaging run. This is a classic view of the Red Planet centered on Syrtis Major, Hellas Basin and Mare Serpentis. Both Huygens and Schiaparelli Craters are well resolved and there's evidence of dust activity over Mare Hadriacum and Mare Tyrrhenum (mottled yellow-gray areas). South Polar Cap remnant shows a short extension to the north east. Blue cloud covers the North Polar Hood region.

The image is a 56 minute WinJUPOS derotation combining 37,524 frames. 14 contributing stacks were acquired between 12:58 and 1:54 am Canberra time, nearly one hour of video taking up 150 GB of disk space.
