Description

Perseverance land place

In the shape of a 49 km wide lake, Jezero crater, chosen as the landing site for the Rover Perseverance, which should land on February 18, 2021, houses a dry, winding channel, similar to a riverbed that in the past, it flowed in the shape of a delta, with water entering one side and exiting the other. Today composed of clay minerals and rocks that may contain organic matter, researchers believe it is the ideal place to find possible fossils of microbial life.

The mission will also count on the help of a drone called Ingenuity, which will fly autonomously and intends to explore places that a rover could never reach, even with all the difficulty of flying on another planet for the first time.
