Description

Doradus 30, otherwise known as the Tarantula Nebula is located in the nearby irregular galaxy, the Large Magellanic Cloud.  This nebula sits at a distance of approximately 186,000 light years away. 

SHO Narrowband:

L - Blend of HA, SII & OIII
R - SII (21 x 10 min)
G - HA (30 x 10 min)
B - OIII (18 x 10 min)

This image proved to be very challenging to process, considering all of the extremely bright areas while at the same time preserving the darker areas as well.
