Description

IC443 (Sh248), otherwise known as the Jellyfish Nebula is large, diffuse nebula located in Gemini. Some 5,000 ly distant, the nebula is a supernova remnant located near the star Eta Gemini. The massive supernova explosion likely resulted in the formation of the neutron star

CXOU J061705.3+222127. The nebula and its corresponding radio source are some of the best-studied of their type in the heavens.
