Description

This object is a barred spiral galaxy located 70 million light years away in the constellation of Cetus at a declination of -14 degrees. The galaxy spans 5 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

The two beautiful spiral arms contain many bright blue star clusters. The inner structure of the galaxy is very interesting - I see both a ring and a spiral structure. At least one distant spiral galaxy, and perhaps more, and seen through the bottom of the disk.

The galaxy to the upper right is MCG-02-02-082, which is about the same size as NGC 210. But since it is 5 times further away, at a distance of 400 million light years, it appears 5 times smaller.
