Description

Mars on Wed 18 Nov 2020 UTC.

Consistently good seeing allowed me to record nearly 2.5 hours of data tracking progress of Valles Marineris dust storm. Second of two best WinJUPOS periods combining 21,100 frames over 40 minutes - 10:27 to 11:07 pm ADST.

As Mars morning turned into midday Mare Erythraeum dust clouds increased their brightness, there is a definite north-south boundary highlighting this contrast differential - noticeable on live preview at the time. Dust pools in Valles Marineris tributaries and a bright spot still hovers over Juventae Fons.
