Description

M102, also known as the Spindle Galaxy and NGC 5866, is an edge-on lenticular (flattened disk, central bulge, no visible spiral arms) galaxy located in the constellation Draco. This galaxy is often overlooked by imagers in favor or other galaxy targets in the region. After processing this, I became interested in the small, dim galaxy on the left middle of the image. This is NGC5866a, one of the members of the NGC 5866 group.
