What you see here is my first mono narrowband recording and I'm very proud of it.
Not that I would win a prize with the result, but I have learned a lot:
- How to use a filter wheel
- Session planning with filters, different focus, etc.
- Post-processing with different flats and the combination of channels
However, in all the excitement that night I messed up the framing and forgot an extension in the image-train, so the distance to the CC wasn't right (that's why I'm only showing a crop here
), but whatever.
I take this as a successful test and will continue to collect some exposure time on this and find new targets.
My bandwidth for different objects (even with a lot of moon) will increase a lot and I can use my small Baby-Newton more often. I have to admit that it is a lot of fun as the handling on the EQ6-R is very uncomplicated and stable and the shorter focal length also allows me to image larger emission nebulae.
