First attempt at capturing these two nebulas.
Framing was quite difficult, using a stock mirorrless camera but I finally managed to get the two nebulas in frame, using the stars as clues. I only managed to get 68' of exposure because the moon was still very bright and I had to shoot before moonrise.
I was initially going for 120s subs at 3200 ISO but 2 issues emerged while acquiring the target : first, my intervallometer decided to take some shots at 240s and I inadvertently moved the ISO setting at the end of my session so that some shots were taken at 1600 ISO. Since I had very few data to begin with, I decided to keep everything, calibrate them with the proper bias, darks and flats and stack them in PixInsight with weightings decided during the SubframeSelector process.
Stacking was successful and the good news is that, with better polar aligment than the last time, there was very few trailing at 240s, compared to the 60 seconds maximum I achieved the first time I used the IOptron SGP !
Mostly, this shot was a test to see what light my unmodified SonyA7II could capture with a telephoto zoom lens. Almost no nebulosity is seen in the individual frames but after calibration and stacking, I could begin to spot some. When the gradient was removed using DBE in PixInsight, a very faint halo of red nebulosity could be seen. I did all I could to boost this nebulosity while attempting to not overcook the picture, don't hesitate to let me know your opinion in the comments below
