WR 134 / Wolf–Rayet 134

I've been rather lucky over the past two weeks or so to have had a run of fairly clear nights, this allowed me to build up a fairly decent amount of exposure time for this object - despite the waning darkness! I must admit however that the actual exposures themselves aren't exactly under the best of circumstances, with WR 134 being fairly low on my horizon and no astro dark anymore to speak of.

A rather interesting one to process due to the very distinct Oiii signal, this really showed up the weakness of imaging narrowband with a OSC. I observed very strong echoes of the Oiii signal in the Ha channel and vise-versa.

Whilst I was collecting data for this image I built up a selection of stacks with varying amounts of data in them, which I thought made rather nice animations that display of the impact of doubling total integration times. Each frame is double the exposure of the previous, such that they represent: 10min, 20min, 40min, 1hr 20min, 2hr 40min, 5hr 20min, 10hr 40min and 21hr 20min.

I wouldn't take the above results too seriously however, as not all subs are equal and I applied some light processing (but identical) to each stack.
