Description

This is a project that should have take 3 nights to capture but instead it took 3 months because of the poor weather we have had here in Melbourne this last winter...

The Cat Paw Nebula or NGC 6334 is an emission Nebula mostly seen from the southern Hemisphere located in the constellation of Scorpius.
It was discovered in 1837 by astronomer John Herschel from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.

It is approximately 5500 light years away from us. This region is rich in in Ha and Sii with some Oiii found in some of the "paws" of the nebula.

This image consist of 17h of narrowband data and 1h of RGB data for the stars.
