Description

Hello friends,

this time I present a very unusual object: The irregular galaxy NGC 4449 aka "The Box Galaxy". Inspired by @John Favalessa and his image from the Box Galaxy https://www.astrobin.com/exa1ql/?q=NGC4449 . I decided instantaneously to go for this target. It is so beautiful and unique.

Unfortunately the weather prevented me from collecting more data. I had only three partial nights to collect some data - under full moon and through clouds. Since weather forecast predicts no additional chance for the next 2 weeks, I have decided to release it based on the data I have. I have tried to make some PI "hocus pokus" to make the best possible from it.

May I also draw your attention to the two small spiral galaxies on the very right hand side: PGC040984 /6. This was a nice additional (random) catch

To enjoy the details in NGC 4449  please go to full resolution. I think, it is worth it

I hope you will enjoy it!
Rüdiger
