Description

Investigating the 2.3 micron pixel option on the 294MM pro with the AP130 refractor and focal reducer. Last year, I used the Barlow to achieve larger image scale for galaxies. This year, I am experimenting with the 2.3 micron pixel to achieve higher resolution on my relatively short focal length refractors for galaxy season.

I did very little with this image in order to preserve it in a very natural state. No manipulation of the stars took place. I did work on evening field illumination from my backyard. I also sharpened the NGC4565 galaxy dust lane. Some very slight noise reduction was applied in PI.

My goal was to not alter the small galaxy clusters off the left rim of 4565. I just love that cluster.

This is an image that needs to be seen at full resolution.
