NGC 7243, Caldwell 16, is an open cluster in the constellation Lacerta. It lies approximately 2,800 light-years away, and is thought to be just over 100 million years old, consisting mainly of white and blue stars.
The first image ("original") was First Light for the William Optics 51mm f/4.9 Petzval "RedCat" Apo refractor. The next ("final") image was after tweaking the collimation and support screws around the objective cell, while viewing an artificial star. Both images are deliberately un-cropped.
