Description

A busy neighborhood within the dusty arms of the Taurus Molecular Cloud, TMC-1.

The blue emission nebula is LBN782 (CED30), and the darker LDN1495 to its right (and part of Barnard 209) harbors four stars near its dark core: zoom in to see the tiniest, a brown dwarf designated 2MASS J04141188+2811535, just below the brightest.

Besides the bright face-on E/S0 spiral galaxy IC359 in lower right, there are many other background galaxies lurking in this field of view.

To control odd/ugly star halos due to camera cables in the optical path of the RASA, I install a dew shield with spider vanes, and use thin flat USB3 and DC cables attached to the vanes, creating a pleasant and traditional diffraction cross on the brighter stars.

Sky brightness SQM 20.62; breezy.

Unguided mount tracking at King rate.

Calibration master frames from extant libraries.

Drizzle integrated at 2x scale for post-processing then cropped.
