Description

You could call this a lucky shot when I went out and took the Mercury transit.

I didn't have a tracking mount of any kind, only used a simple tripod, my full frame DSLR, 2x TC and a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens with Baader Solar Filter sheet to protect myself and the sensor in my camera. Had to manually track the sun's movement midday.

Captured a few RAW files, stacked them together (can't even remember what I used back in the days), enhanced the details with Astra Image. The 100% cropping of the Mercury was made in Photoshop, otherwise people would be searching for it and never find it, since most (non-astronomical) people can't see the difference between a sunspot and a planet.
