Description

This is (one of) the first light images for my new camera and lens. The purpose of the imaging was to better understand the camera system, so the imaging strategy (aperture, and lengths of subs, etc) was not really optimized for obtaining the highest-quality image. However, the final result isn't too bad.

The camera is unmodified. The lens was stopped down to F2.8 for 4-minute subs, and F3.2 for 1-minute subs.

As you know, Betelgeuse is dimming in the last few months. You can compare this image with my old one:

https://www.astrobin.com/340592/?nc=user

You will see that Betelgeuse was much brighter before.
