Description

The infamous Andromeda galaxy, located at 2.5 million light-years from Earth.

The number of stars contained in the Andromeda Galaxy is estimated at one trillion, or roughly twice the number estimated for the Milky Way.

The Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies are expected to collide in around 4.5 billion years.

This is my first attempt at this galaxy, using L(HA+R)GB, as it now mostly fits in my field of view after adding the reducer. I am still working on some upgrades, mainly a tilt adjustment mechanism to fix one of my corners. I think I figured out the spacing finally and mostly the stars are good in other corners now. I am also adding an OAG, let's see how that goes.

I will attempt this again, as it didn't turn out as good as I hoped it would be. In any case, I thought of sharing.

Comments and feedback are always much appreciated.

Clear Skies,

Michel

Description: still not very happy about how this turned out. this is my nth iteration from scratch. as with Orion and other infamous targets, it's hard to be satisfied with this one as well.
