Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is an obscure galaxy group located 0.5 billion light years away in the constellation of Serpens at a declination of +15 degrees. To be honest, I assigned the name IC 1168 Galaxy Group to this object - it may have an official designation that I am not aware of.

The 4 main galaxy objects here are all about the same distance away, although I don’t see much disturbance here so they are not likely within 1 million light years of each other. IC 1168 is the brightest at magnitude 14.2. It is also the largest at about 120,000 light years in diameter.
