Description

There are not many images here on Astrobin of this object, at least with a field radius between 1.3 and 2.0.

Cederblad 51 is a bluish glowing and relatively faint reflection nebula over Orion's head, about a third of the distance between Orion and Taurus.

Ced 51 is embedded in a larger Ha areal or Sharpless object with the number Sh2-264.

In the lower and darker part of the image there are also quite a few dark nebulae or LDN objects.

I decided to turn the Ha to a greyish brownish colour, also to make more of the structures of the lower dark nebula area visible, as this image still lacks the luminosity component.

Hope you enjoy this not quite everyday object, also because it is a bit noisy in the lower area due to the relatively low integration time for this object.

And by the way, after more than three months without really clear nights, this is my first winter object this season.

Thanks for stopping by & Clear skies

Andreas
