Description

The Hercules Cluster is a globular cluster visible in the constellation of Hercules. Listed as messier 13 it was discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714. It is the brightest cluster in the northern hemisphere and is easily visible even in view with a small pair of binoculars. It contains several hundred thousand stars and is far from the Earth about 24,000 light-years.
