Description

Nice, but not exactly what I wanted.

I purchased the Apertura 0.5x 1.25" Focal Reducer in hopes of a full or near full Sun disk shot with my WO GT81. It conveniently screwed into the bottom of the Quark. The Quark model I have has the built-in 4.2x barlow for prominences and I was trying to negate that with the 0.5x FR and the .8x WO FR. However, focus could not be reached due to the WO Flat 6AIII attached to the telescope. It was really close, I racked the focuser in as far as possible and felt like I needed only a few more millimeters and focus would have been there.

Plan B:  I pulled the GT81 off the mount and brought in the ES102 and got what I could with the 0.5x.

Used 40% of 2500 frames in Auto Stakkert.
Image inverted in ImPPG to show more surface detail.
Gain=0

Thanks, Eddie
