Description

I continue to work through the low down southerly Messier targets with the data for M9 being capture over 2 nights, mostly in astro, or even nautical twilight so there were lots of bright sky gradients to process away. Most of the captures on 12 May were in a very bright sky so the green data captured between 03:20am and 03:50am was awful, hence I shot some more a bit earlier on the 15th.

Imaging low down in a bright sky certainly compromised guiding performance, hence the egg shaped stars, however, M9 never reaches even 20 deg altitude from my location and is only visible from my observatory for a few weeks in the year, when there is limited astronomical darkness, so it's a case of use whatever opportunity I can muster.

Title: Reprocessed using PixInsight.

Description: Another attempto to salvage something from some pretty awful data full of sky gradients and other artefacts. I will probably need to shoot this again, but it's always going to be a very challenging target from my location.
