This is an image of the central core of the Carina Nebula, NGC 3372.

This nebula is below my southern horizon, but I was able to acquire a data set from a telescope in Chile via Telescope.Live.  It is my first time to utilize/process a remote data set; it was not a custom data set, but one built from several observations on file over the last two years.  The filter information is accurate in the technical details as is the telescope, camera, and mount information.  The acquisition date is not as data in the package provided spanned a period from 2020 to 2021.

The Carina Nebula in its entirety is much larger than the area captured in this image of central core region.  In the Wikipedia link there is a long list of significant objects contained within the Carina nebula so it is worth following the wikipedia link to learn more about this object below our view to the south.

An almost completely off-topic note:  The Carina Constellation is mentioned repeatedly in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie: Dead Men Tell No Tales.  However, looking at the tattoo on Captain Barbarossa's arm and on the cover of the book he left with his daughter when he abandoned her as an infant and you will find little resemblance to the actual Carina Constellation.  The constellation in the movie does show a very close resemblance to the Scorpius Constellation with the same distinctive trident' star formation at one end.  IMO - YMMV.

Although it is four times as large as and even brighter than the famous Orion Nebula, the Carina Nebula is much less well known due to its location in the southern sky.
