Description

HFG1 was discovered in 1982 by Heckathorn, Fesen and Gull. It takes life thanks to V664 Cas, a star with a magnitude of 14.5, a binary star system consisting of a white dwarf and a sun alike star rotating around each other every 14 hours in a distance of only a few million kilometre. A red tail of 10,000 year old gas is left behind.

Abell 6 nebula is a more classical bubble style nebula. Its emission is stronger in OIII than Ha, with a diameter of almost 3 arc minutes. Having said that, the most difficult and faint deep sky object (both planetary nebulae to manage in the same picture) that I ever imaged. They need a better sky condition for sure (very humid nights) and more integracion as well. I spent a great and funny time up there. St. Barthelemy Starparty see you next year. Thanks to Massimiliano for the BBQ party :-)))
