Description: I did a little reprocessing to try and improve the blown out look of some of the stars

Description: The last couple of days I learned to create a star layer mask in Gimp. This is a neat tool that allows me to stretch the data without blowing out the star field. This is really helpful with objects in a saturated star field or objects in a field of bright stars. The process preserves the star field and star color. It took a while to learn this process and I'm still in a learning phase. However my initial feelings are that this is going to be a useful tool for processing certain deep sky objects. I've completely reprocessed three images incorporating this star mask process into my work flow. This is one of the images. Normally when stretching the data on this object to bring out the nebulosity it also blows out the very bright stars in this object. In this image I did not have that problem.
