Description

This beautiful cosmic rose is a very often photographed winter target in the northern skies. I tried to figure out the natural colors of the rose with it´s gray bluish core with the embedded open starcluster NGC 2244 and the red wide spreaded hydrogen clouds around it. This nebula is located in the constellation Monocerus directly in the Orion spiral arm of our milkyway.

The image shows a combination of several imaging sessions of the last weeks. You can see here the combination of:

- RGB: 6,5 hours

- Halpha: 13,5 hours

- Oxygen III: 10,8 hours
