Description

NGC 2841 is one of the largest and brightest galaxies in Ursa Major: its has angular size 8.1x3.5’ and magnitude 9.5, while its estimated distance is 47 million light years.
Its spiral-arm structure is marked by a number of shorter spiral arms fragments that can be seen on the image as flocculent nodules around the galaxy just a little brigter than the sky.
Several others faint background galaxies are visible in the field.
